The short glimpse of a blurb "Set in a small Czech village, Season 1 follows a local mayor whose daughter disappears amid a battle with a powerful coal company" and some random scenes were very discouraging. And I got hooked; I got back to the beginning. Waste Land begins with an eco-friendly premise, but quickly transforms into an uplifting portrait of the power of art and the dignity of the human spirit.
