It's always fun when my mom and I can both enjoy the same shows, and I got her started watching these as soon as I found them. The plots and emotional content are totally satisfying in their own way, the relationship between Lewis and Hathaway is extremely gratifying and unique. If all these murders were really going on, I would be very reluctant to allow my son or daughter to attend Oxford University...it's a jungle out there!....:-).

This series is a familiar genre, with the central characters being a senior detective inspector and his junior partner (Inspector Robert Lewis and Sergeant James Hathaway) working on a variety of crimes (mostly murders). Too often crucial clues aren't revealed until the last five minutes (so you can't have fun trying to solve the crime before the detectives do), but very much enjoyed the character development and interaction between Lewis and Hathaway, and the slowly-growing relationship between Lewis and Hobson.
