im with bfinch. That off the colors with 1/2 “ pinstripes between each color and spraying clear gel Coat mixed with copper penny flake .015 and brilliant gold .015. or do i use a binder for the flakes an then drop a couple coats of clear on top of the flakes mixed with the binder .

shoot the apple red fairly dark, so it looks black, until the sun hits it, then you see the black pearl sparkle.
You could mix the red pearl in the black basecoat...and then go regular clear.
I have a 2MM tip,nozzle, air cap and needle. Ghost pearls look completely different sprayed over varying color base coats.
The boat is perfectly fine with a few scraps in the gelcoat but the colors and scream just doesn’t do thi boat justice.

You can also safely color sand and buff out pearl or flake coats that don’t have additional clear over them.
Then coat it with your pearl intercoat followed by a solid 2-3 coats of clear. also what kind and color of pearls do you recomend?

It is a very fine powder and will spray well through airbrushes, powder guns, and HVLP paint guns. you do need to do a few spray outs to determine how much pearl you want to add to it as too much pearl will look like crap.

you could just put the pearl in the clear coat and do your regular topcoat process but if you run it itll look funny. These are tiny flakes (micro).
